Six week journey to a six-pack of abdominal muscle...

DAY ONE, WEEK FIVE

I didn't think I had it in me.  I went to bed last night feeling really unwell but overnight I recovered quite a bit.  I did one hundred and forty press-ups, crunches and a thirty minute run set at speed eight.

DAY TWO, WEEK FIVE

My used Toyota gave me an illness, the air filter must be dirty.  I turn the air conditioning on and inhale the germs I did.  It really struck me down and I still haven't fully recovered.  Usually after illnesses like this I have a different attitude to life but I think there is still a burning desire to want to keep this up.

To add insult to injury, I hurt my right arm.  My arm still functions, but I hurt it doing press-ups and there is a nagging pain at the elbow.  Nothing too serious though and it could just heal by this time tomorrow.

More of the same... I held speed nine for ten minutes on the treadmill and thirty minutes crunches.

DAY THREE, WEEK FIVE

Thirty minute run, fifteen minutes push-ups, fifteen minutes crunches, more of the same.  I have decided to experiment with whey protein shakes to replace my meal replacement shakes for muscle build and weight management, I chose chocolate.  I tried my first one this morning and taste was leaving much to be desired, but I know that this stuff is supposed to be good for me and overall I think it is something I can get used to.  According to Wikipedia, whey protein also has anti-cancer properties but remain unfounded in human experiments.  They experimented on mice.

Onward!

DAY FOUR, WEEK FIVE

My thirty minute run was a struggle today but I completed it.  The press-ups were also a struggle, I did one hundred.  I also did my crunches.  I think my struggle was mainly because of my illness that I'm still getting over, that I caught from the air conditioning of my car, so no it does not help.  I also had sex last night too.  Either this or that or other factors such as inhaling cleaning chemicals after three hours cleaning my house late yesterday or consuming more whey protein (although this should actually give me energy instead of hinder my exercise routine in any way).  I think I'm liking this whey protein.  The taste is very dull, but I think I like the texture of the drink and also I think it fills me up well until it is time to eat again (I eat at certain times).  I did hold speed nine on my treadmill for twenty five minutes mind you and I think that is a new record.

Advance!

DAY FIVE, WEEK FIVE

To round off week five... more of the same.  One hundred and thirty press-ups being the only real difference.  I look in the mirror every day but I have yet to see any evidence of a six-pack.  Unless when I am outside I look in the ranch-slider window and can see a six-pack already there with the sun showing it up?!  But they could just be stretch marks... dunno.  I should be thin but looks in mirrors can be deceiving.  I am very light, but I still have fat around my mid-section.  According to my analog readings I am dangerously underweight and shouldn't lose any more, but I'm going to ignore that and continue to lose until I collapse on the floor one day.

I need to tone, just replacing meals with shakes and eating fruit, meat and and vegetables along with them is the easy part.  I need to burn all this excess fat off of my mid-section, my arms, my legs... I have lost a lot of weight around my face.  In my drivers license photo I was eighteen and I was blown up like a balloon.  I should have been doing what I am doing now if not at eighteen, then say five years ago at twenty one.  I will be turning twenty seven in three months just before Christmas.  I wish I was twenty one or twenty two again, so much more younger, such a smaller number, so much more desirable.

Two days of rest then start on week six next Monday.  Maybe I might do the pull-ups on a frame of monkey bars and sit-ups on a slide somewhere, somehow.

DAY ONE, WEEK SIX

I have been feeling incredibly tired this morning because of sex yesterday, I fucking hate it.  Despite this, I continue with my exercises and I have been instructed to add an extra half hour to my routine, mainly crunches, to achieve this six-pack of abs that I'm not really sure I am so far away from becoming a reality.

More of the same... except fifteen minutes basketball (shooting hoops) and thirty minutes crunches.  I also did forty minutes walking as well.  My thirty minute run was a hell of a lot more easier when hydrated.  This is something else, as well as stretching, that I highly suggest you do and the author of the Independent article from the United Kingdom failed to instruct the readers to do.  Just fucking dumb and could get someone seriously injured or killed.

DAY TWO, WEEK SIX

Same ol' same ol'.  I was incredibly busy today after my exercises pretty much all afternoon, I was so tired until I got more food into me.  Onward!

DAY THREE, WEEK SIX

No training today, way too busy.  I will be back into it tomorrow though and I could do an extra week of more of the same exercises along with pull ups on monkey bars and sit ups on a slide, somewhere.

DAY FOUR, WEEK SIX

More of the same.

DAY FIVE, WEEK SIX

More of what I did on day one of this week and the other three days, adding an extra half hour to my routine.

RESULT:

I didn't do any pull-ups on bars or situps on slides and I also didn't use this TRX exercise equipment I read about either, but I'm not entirely sure whether I have a six-pack of abdominal muscle.  I certainly don't have one when I look at my stomach just now, all I see is excess fat.  But on an empty stomach and when I look in my bathroom mirror with natural light coming down through my skylight, I can see something developing there... as in a six-pack.  I can see my abdominals showing through as a pack... or is unit a better word?  But not ripped.  I can also see my obliques and ribs.  So, not entirely sure.  I bet if I continued on with this, doing my exercises on weekends and adding ANOTHER half hour (training for two hours a day), I will surely be ripped and as I said it could take another six weeks to achieve that.  And, that's what I'm going to do.  I will continue with my exercises and drink whey protein shakes to help me with muscle build.  I sure as hell know I have a hell of a lot more energy and strength than I used to.  Vegetables, fruit, meat and water... that is what your diet should consist of.  Notice how most of that food is AS IS instead of made-up, invented, processed or manufactured food.  I just love boiled steaming hot broccoli and cauliflower with dashes of salt and pepper on it, for example.  Or steaming hot broccoli and cauliflower with tomato puree mixed in.  Or well cooked spinach and sweet sprouted mung beans, a new meal I have been trying.

So I think the verdict is still out as to whether you really can achieve a six-pack in six weeks.  The Independent were the messenger, as am I, and this has originally come from a mens health magazine... not sure which.

Six week journey to a six-pack of abominal muscle...

So over the weekend I partied more but avoided beer.  I instead had GINGER beer and more vodka.  Saturday night seemed such a short night to me.  The international rugby started late as it was being played in Australia then the next two or three hours just flew by after in a club watching clothed and naked girlies dance for cash.  This was nothing new, I think I was just bothered by how I was a party of one, alone, and all the much younger people (as in probably barely legal boys and girls) surrounding me who were there with me actually... they should have been all over eighteen though.  I have also been feeling strangely frightened for no particular reason and even suicidal at dusk, before I go out, when the sun is setting.  That is nothing new either however.

DAY ONE, WEEK THREE

Ten minutes stretching.  I would like to strongly emphasize how important it is to stretch.  If you stretch well, your arms and legs, for ten or fifteen minutes, you will find these exercises much more easier.  Your arms and legs will become so much more easier to move.  When I used to do tae-kwon-doe, we would stretch for twenty minutes.  When I think back, I know now how wonderful stretching was for me to enable me to do things I just wouldn't have been able to do without it.  From today, my routine has changed.  After my stretching, I perform lunge walks (see link on how to do these).  After fifteen minutes of those, I then sprint between two trees on and off and do press ups in sets of five.  When I have stopped to catch my breath back, I do more stretching instead of standing around doing nothing.  I also do all of that for fifteen minutes.  Then I come home and do a fifteen minute run then ANOTHER fifteen minutes doing crunches.  I really enjoy the crunches because I can feel that exercise working my mid-section.  After all of that, I'm done.

DAY TWO, WEEK THREE

More of the same.  I was able to sprint between the two trees for four minutes instead of the two minutes yesterday.  On the treadmill, I held speed eight for five minutes then speed nine for five minutes, I had quite a bit of energy.

DAY THREE, WEEK THREE

More of the same once again.  But I did have a pain in my right leg behind my knee while sprinting, however it just went away as I continued on.  I also experienced a condition called gyroscopic crisis... this is a side-effect to do with my anti-psychotic medication.  This was distracting and didn't allow me to perform as well as I could have without it.  Still, I completed my fifteen minutes well and was satisfied with my performance, much better than yesterday and the day before.  I also performed lunge walks, but I see little point in how doing these help me with my six-pack, but I did them anyway.  I came home and did fifteen minutes on my treadmill then fifteen minutes crunches so once again, an hour of training.  I was almost going to reach speed ten but decided against it.  I reached speed eight.

Today, I also spoke to my dietician.  She advised me to end my low carbohydrate diet soon as they do not want to be held legally liable if anything happens to me as in something that might require me to be rushed to hospital.  This is all well and good, but I'm not satisfied still with what the diet has done for me.  I still have fat, I am thin... but not completely satisfied with how I am.  I have been on this diet for almost eight months now and I wish I could stay on it longer, but the news today has made me think against it.

DAY FOUR, WEEK THREE

More of the same.  I was able to hold speed nine for OVER five minutes.  Going by this trend, I'm getting better and better.

DAY FIVE, WEEK THREE

More of the same except I felt a pain in my right leg again behind my knee and the sprinting was a struggle at first but I actually got better at it with more power as I continued and I stopped running on the treadmill at five minutes because I was getting extremely angry for no reason, so I stopped before I burst out into uncontrollable swearing.  As you would have read, I have also been feeling frightened and suicidal at times too for no particular reason.  I do not do recreational drugs such as marijuana or ecstasy and I will think a bit more about talking to someone comfortably over the phone about how I have been feeling and especially if I feel that way again.  I will not talk to mental health professionals who have the power to change or up my medication.  They can not be trusted... and that is sad.

A rest now over the next couple of days and back into it next Monday.

DAY ONE, WEEK FOUR

So what the fuck was I supposed to do to begin this week?  I tried to find another playground on Google which has monkey bars or pull up bars and a straight standard inclined slide but the best I could find was about ten kilometers away and I just wasn't up to driving there.  I could have caught a bus but I thought no.  I will continue on and if nothing changes then I might do an extra week containing those exercises.

Ten minutes stretching, one hundred and twenty press-ups in sets of thirty and twenty, thirty minutes running and I held speed eight for ten minutes, then fifteen minutes doing crunches.  I could really feel my abdominals as I did them.

You know, I'm doubting now at the end of this I am going to have a washboard set of abs, maybe it will take a bit longer than just six weeks... as in twelve.  This dislocation or movement in my ribs came back but I continued on with my crunches.  Anyway, this day has been done and dusted.  I will be seeing my doctor this Wednesday for a medical certificate to possibly allow me to continue on my low-carb diet.  Then after, get more shakes, fruit, meat and vegetables... I hope.

I also completed another ten kilometers in about eighty minutes.  I was just sitting outside in the sun and then I asked myself whether I wanted to do another run and the answer was yes, so I did.  Please, hold your applause.

DAY TWO, WEEK FOUR

I was really sore from yesterday but I had a shake then got on my treadmill to attempt a thirty minute run.  But I had to stop at ten minutes because I had a huge stitch in my right abdomen so then I moved on to one hundred and twenty press-ups in sets of twenty and thirty then fifteen minutes doing crunches.  I got back on my treadmill and completed the last twenty minutes, I was really really close to giving up at twenty five minutes.  My legs were aching, I had a stitch (from drinking or eating just before running), then suddenly toward the end my breathing malfunctioned and I was struggling for breath.  Still, I completed my one hour and I should be happy with that.  At this point in time, I might complete another ten kilometer run either tomorrow or Friday.  I'm thinking more probably this Friday.

DAY THREE, WEEK FOUR

Maybe I attempted another run too early.  Maybe I got too ahead of myself.  I was able to complete seven point five kilometers non-stop until I had to rest once, then I finished pretty much the remainder of my distance until I rested again.  This was incredibly hard, running at seven point five kilometers an hour, no joke.  I found this much harder than what I did on Monday on the spur of the moment.  I think maybe I should have waited for Friday.  All up I did eleven kilometers.

More of the same to finish my exercising, I must have exercised for about over two hours.

DAY FOUR, WEEK FOUR

I could be coming down with a virus, I have taken paracetamol to help me recover quickly.  Because of this reason, I suspect it is because I did complete my one hour training, but not as well as I have done before.  More of the same, what more can I say.

DAY FIVE, WEEK FOUR

No training today, too unwell.  I have been infected with a mild virus or seasonal illness and I just don't have the same strength.  This has happened at a good time though!  Because I now have two days to recover before I start on week five.

Two year anniversary of UnwashedFlyer's blog

Two years now.  Either today or in a couple of days, just marking it off.  Maybe you can go back and find out on which date I founded this blog and know that way.  I won't.

Six week journey to a six-pack of abdominal muscles

This is my personal diary to my six-pack of abs.  I began yesterday, the 6th of August, and will finish on the 17th of September 2012.  You can try this for yourself by visiting this link.  http://www.nzherald.co.nz/lifestyle/news/article.cfm?c_id=6&objectid=10768132 ....  Just follow the instructions.

IMPORTANT:  REMEMBER TO STRETCH BEFORE YOUR EXERCISES.  THIS ARTICLE, ORIGINALLY FROM THE INDEPENDENT NEWSPAPER OF THE UNITED KINGDOM, AMAZINGLY FAILS TO INSTRUCT THE READER TO DO SO.  IF YOU DON'T, YOU CAN SERIOUSLY HURT YOURSELF!  THIS IS DANGEROUSLY MISLEADING!

-----

DAY ONE, WEEK ONE

I begin this experiment I guess, I will either succeed or fail.  I position myself down on a white woolen mat of my white living room carpeted floor and begin today with press-ups.  I manage about ten before I have to pause intermittently on and off to get back my breath but I do this for fifteen minutes and must have reached over thirty in total.  I get on my back and begin crunches, I must have done about over thirty of those too.  I made sure to throw as much as my body up as I could, I really tried to put power up in behind myself to lift myself up.  I then finish with thirty minute run on my treadmill, I complete three kilometers.

DAY TWO, WEEK ONE

My body is aching and this is strange because I certainly didn't wake up this way this morning.  These nagging aches have only come over me in my legs and arms over the last couple of hours.  I have felt much worse though, this isn't the first time.

I go through the routine again and I'm not sure as to whether I found it more difficult today than yesterday.  Anyway, it is a struggle but I think I have put in the same effort.  The run on the treadmill, I notice, is more difficult this time and maybe it is because I ate an unusually delicious steak last night for my protein intake, which worries me.  Still, I persevere and complete my thirty minutes on the treadmill then collapse over the console to get back my breath and thoughts.

DAY THREE, WEEK ONE

I start on the treadmill today and do ten minutes and just over one kilometre because I feel a nagging pain in my right leg.  Then I get on the floor and do seventy press-ups.  They all were somewhat half-pied but I'm still blown away by how well I did because of the number as I kept count.  I then get on my back and do crunches but stop at five minutes because I feel something unusually moving uncomfortably in my abdomen like a rib or something... I also noticed a vague bruise on my right leg.

DAY FOUR, WEEK ONE

I start on the treadmill again today and cut my time down to fifteen minutes from thirty.  I complete the time and distance (over a kilometer) and do well.  I found that the nagging pain in my right leg just went away as I continued my run.  I then get on the floor and do crunches, I don't keep count.  I don't keep count but I go for fifteen minutes and what seemed to me to be a dislocation in my abdomen went away as well just like the pain in my right leg and that I found quite extraordinary.  When it came to press-ups, I fail miserably.  I manage about ten.  This was certainly a far cry to the seventy press-ups I achieved yesterday, I don't really know why I achieved so little today.  I didn't think to stretch.

DAY FIVE, WEEK ONE

Disaster struck, my training has hit a brick wall.  I manage two press-ups, my arms are so weak.  I then get on my back and try crunches but this dislocation of some kind in my right abdomen is still there and worries me a little.  I stopped as I decided not to carry on and aggravate it although yesterday it just went away.  I just give up on running.

So from here I have two days to get back my strength and all the aches go away then week two will begin with me trying myself out on adventure playground equipment.  From what I have been reading, it will be not easy.

DAY ONE, WEEK TWO

The article I linked to above from the Independent shouldn't be so shallow, it could have gone into greater detail.  I feel ready to start another week and this is crunch time.  I have never done pull-ups on a bar before.  Over the weekend I drunk not one beer, but a lot of vodka and to my surprise, didn't get rolling drunk.  I hope this hasn't hindered my journey to my six pack of abs.  In one bar I visited, I could see some men with pot bellies or unusually shaped abdomens, I think that has come about from drinking.  Me?  I am quite thin now, but I still have quite a bit of abdominal fat that I have learnt could be an early warning sign for heart disease when I get older.

I arrive at the playground and all the kids should be at school, it is empty.  I thought there were pull up bars there but there aren't.  I do ten minutes of stretching.  That is, my legs, my arms and my legs again.  I wipe down the slide because it is a bit wet after we have had a wet weekend and attempt these sit ups I have been reading about.  I don't know how the reporter attached his legs to the top of the slide but I don't try that and instead hold on to these nearby bars with my arms and hands so I don't slide down the slide backward.  I think, no, this isn't going to work so I leave and come back home.

I arrive home and do fifty push-ups stopping and starting because it is hard work.  I try crunches but I still feel a dislocation in my abdomen so I think I won't push myself and aggravate it further because there is the potential there to seriously hurt myself.  I get on my expensive all flash and no substance treadmill and complete over one kilometer in fifteen minutes.

The treadmill workout was more of a struggle than usual, maybe it was because I drunk a bit too much alcohol over the weekend.  And I did drink more than ever before, actually.  I'm not completely satisfied with how I have been unable to do my crunches, I should be training for an hour, no less.

Every time I sit on the toilet I can see my abdominals and it appears there is a six-pack forming, or maybe it is just my excess abdominal fat, haha.

DAY TWO, WEEK TWO

I arrive at the adventure playground and do ten minutes of stretching.  Then I try and do crunches or sit-ups on the little narrow blue curvy slide, I can't do it.  I can't do it because the incline is too steep and I can't do it without sliding down the slide backward, I need to stay in one place at the top of the slide.

So then I remembered, the press-ups on the park bench.  I position myself up on the bench with my legs on it and the rest of myself on an incline down to the ground.  Amazingly, I found doing this more easier than doing just normal press-ups on an almost even keel.  I do fifty, stopping and starting, because I feel a pain in my lower abdomen above my pelvis that the pain was excruciating if I had of continued on and did ten more than I did each time.  I get to thirteen minutes when I look at my cellphone stopwatch and think no, I will do ten more instead of just giving up and moving on.

Someone calls out to me by calling me a faggot.  I would like him to come out here and do what I'm doing, maybe I might be impressed.  He can prove his straight superiority to me in an exercise competition instead of perhaps a fight, the hard motherfucker.  Hehe.  He is really cute by the way.  He is like a real life Japanese anime character as in Yu-Gi-Oh.  He must be a year younger than me but he still looks so young, I think I'm in love.

I get on my treadmill, I HAVE AN ABSOLUTE ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF ENERGY AND I FEEL AMAZING THROUGHOUT as I complete a record three and a half kilometres at a running pace.  I almost fall off too by taking off my hooded sweatshirt, but I just slide off the machine onto my feet.  I think the Indian Korma curry sauce I had last night mixed in with my boiled onions for my vegetable intake, twice, had something to do with it.

To finish this extraordinary day, I do dozens of powerful crunches for fifteen minutes.

DAY THREE, WEEK TWO

Today was certainly better than yesterday as I begin by stretching, then ninety press-ups stopping and starting on the park bench in sets of twenty then I take a short walk home and do thirty minutes running then crunches.  I didn't have so much energy today so maybe I might buy more of that curry sauce to help me then mix it in with my boiled onions.

I also want to buy a canoe or kayak and paddle the harbour from one end to the other then back again (I live on a coast) to exercise my arms and torso.  I also already play basketball (shooting hoops) and I have a black and yellow Everlast punching bag I might set up in my garage soon.  This might all turn to shit tomorrow though, don't ask me why.

DAY FOUR, WEEK TWO

Well.  I believed that I would fail miserably today after a bit of sexual activity last night but I did more of the same instead.  Ten minutes stretching, ninety press-ups from the park bench in sets of twenty off and on with more stretching in between, then another three and a half kilometers on my treadmill and THEN about fifty or so crunches that should really work my abs well.  I also started at seven in the morning when noone was around, not even school children, in the park.  I usually exercised at around eleven in the morning.

DAY FIVE, WEEK TWO

Another job well done from me.  Actually, even better.  I managed to get up to speed nine on my treadmill, a new record, and I held that speed for five minutes.  I think I should be thanking my stretching for how I did so well... my arms and legs, I'm quite proud of myself, and that is a sin.  Ninety press-ups and a series of crunches once again.  I almost fainted today too by the way, I was so close.  It was a bit scary but soon got over it after a minute or two laying down then just got on my way.  I felt so light headed in a room then I was walking down a corridor and I could see my vision turn to large spots of blackness, not fun.  This is the second time this has happened while being on my low-carbohydrate diet.  I have been in something called the state of ketosis for seven months now, a very long time compared to others.  Maybe tonight I might be in a state of a coma after a fight, haha!  I hope not, I will probably get my ass handed to me.

Kim Dotcom...

... and Hollywood.  So recently it came out that it was Joe Biden, the vice-president of the United States, who met with Hollywood movie executives to attempt to take down Kim Dotcom.  Dotcom would not name his source, but I bet whoever his source is, he or she is a two-faced play both sides of the game rat that shouldn't be trusted.  The thing that gets me is, I don't believe Hollywood is serious about business.  With them wanting to combat piracy by unfairly targeting Kim Dotcom and not going across the board with the deal, plus also these actions over ten years too late instead of regulating the Internet from the start, and movies that are to please the Yosemite Sam's of this world, Hollywood just can't be taken seriously.  Hollywood, New York City... anywhere where there is entertainment but particularly the movie and music industry.  You can exclude Bollywood, or can you?

Just a thought or two about this and on the eve of the Batman: Dark Knight movie premiere shooting, but I'm only now posting about it of course.

What can I say, as much as I hate Hollywood... their rumoured heavy Jewish influence by, as John Travolta apparently said, "homosexual Jewish men", I'm pleased by what has happened.  I mean, if he stormed the cinema where the movie was screening and just continuously shot at the projector screen then okay.  But he killed innocents, unfortunately.

Only in America.

Love

I have already made it known here on this blog that I have seen and engaged with prostitutes.  Two last year and about twelve more so far again this year, all Asian.  I visited my first strip club last Saturday and enjoyed my time.

I spend a lot of time sitting in front of my computer and many times I leave that then spend time outside in the sun.  Because of the sun, my eyes water but from also being in front of those flat panel monitors as well beforehand.  We live in a changed world now but for me it was really always the same, I just wasn't aware.  Well the hurt I have from doing what I have done is minor.

I know that throughout my life so far I have had a few girlfriends, but they were all fake just like those women in the sex business.  They never loved me, they just felt obligated by a religious motivation.  It isn't until one does get woken up and realise what happened as being all shit, just shit.  Love for me was never really any different at its core, that is my point.  It is funny too because I certainly didn't realise that before then (last year) and also just recently.  For five years I was abstinent, heavily medicated, and miserable.  I was being abused by the state.  I was driven to do and say anything back in 2003 for change in my life, and quickly.  I was desperate.  But it is because of the government ultimately I am in this mess.  Without their unwarranted meddling, things might be better for me.  Life is short everyone.  Well, it can be.  How can you tell someone that you are a pedophile?  You can't.  Is my life going to be normal?  At all?  No way.

Kim Dotcom

Below is a message I was going to post on the NZ Herald website, on this report that I have linked to, but now put it on this blog instead.  http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=10816451 ...

-----

I do believe that Dotcom made a valid point on Campbell Live some months ago that YouTube and other sites get away with piracy so felt he was being picked on for perhaps in my mind some ulterior motive.

But on the other hand I do suspect that Dotcom is guilty of crimes that haven't come to light yet which are far more serious than just internet piracy such as terrorism, human trafficking, slavery, conspiracy to murder, breach of privacy both online and offline and drug offenses.  He doesn't have those flaunting plates on his luxurious cars such as MAFIA, STONED... and so on for nothing.  He has the criminal respect and he enjoys all the attention he gets from showboating, he is like John Gotti.

He is no friend of mine.
