Well, say hello to another three years of John Key and his National government.
I guess the polling before "the one that mattered on the day" was correct even though I thought they might have been all rigged by government media contacts. It is really so surprising to see National get DOUBLE the vote compared to the opposition Labour party and I thought Labour ran the better campaign excluding the Manic Street Preachers style text they had to spell out their campaign that told me, that the public relations machine I was all too familiar with was working their self-serving magic in their month long and now pretty much fruitless attempt at power.
I thought our prime minister attempted to commit political suicide with the tea party tape. I can't understand why he did that, what was the point? Silly.
Another thing that has surprised me is how quickly the votes have been counted. It wasn't until midnight during the 2008 or 2005 election we knew the outcome but now it is almost 11PM and we all know.
I appreciate and understand Phil Goof needed to make "the hard decisions" to bring New Zealand back on track however it has only fallen on the ears of over twenty percent of the voting public, that yes, is very surprising.
Really unbelievable. I thought there was going to be a big surprise and the polls before election night being proven wrong and Phil Goff and Labour winning power after a closely fought, hard full on battle at the polls with John Key and National. How wrong I was.
I think our prime minister, some time over these next three years, will be shot, I really do think so. What better time to do that then after election night to make the statement.
John Key, he is no Barack Obama. They are both no good anyway. Well, by approval, John Key is actually better.
I would have for sure voted in this election if there had of been a pro-pedophile party (legalising child pornography and lowering the age of consent) that also had a policy of fiscal conservatism, perhaps other social policy (legalise marijuana), justice re-form, a foreign policy re-think (withdraw troops from Afghanistan and the expulsion of possibly American but almost certainly Israeli diplomats), leaving the education system untouched, and the separation of church and state and or special interest groups being denied. We could call ourselves something like Liberal NZ. Well, that will always be the dream HAHA. I think justice re-form is the big one. Something seriously wrong with the justice system in this country. If you want government to be more for the people then more referendums and when the results come in, then the results enacted by government and not ignored. That oughta' be a vote winner.
Really surprised. Was expecting a totally different outcome.
THAT'S THAT HAHA.
